Mission Statement:
The mission of the Convention and Visitors Bureau is to promote Seguin as a tourist destination, a community with rich history and recreational opportunities. The CVB also supports the development of special events, sporting activities, conventions and visitor-related attractions.
The primary emphasis is on activities and programs that:
- Result in increased occupancy of guestrooms in commercial lodging facilities
- Promote attendance at area events and attractions.
- Increase bookings and revenue generation for area meeting facilities.
The CVB Committee will continue to work in the following areas:
- Promote local tours to group travel market including True Women book tours as well as historic tours by participating in travel shows geared toward group travel planners.
- Promote visitation to Seguin to the Winter Texas market by participating in the International Travel Show held in McAllen.
- Develop sales leads with State Association meeting planners.
- Utilize regional marketing opportunities available through memberships in travel-related organizations, including I-10 Corridor Association, Central Texas Bluebonnet Travel Council and Texas Independence Trail Region.
- Increase advertising efforts - newspaper, magazine, television, radio and interne
- Continue special event advertising support - Diez y Seis, Cinco de Mayo, Guadalupe County Fair, Freedom Fiesta, Trade Days, Texas Collectors Pottery Show, etc.
- Marketing/PR
- Assist in planning speicla events and tourism-related projects and attraction development.
